As I ran an system update on my Microsoft Surface this morning I had to fix my Wifi since after the reboot the Microsoft Surface RT didn’t see any of my wireless networks anymore. And without internet connection the Microsoft Surface or any other Windows 8 computer is really useless. I tried the easy way of searching for wifi but really gave me the only option to turn on flight mode and turn it back off. Well that didn’t do it. But I have found a way to fix it. Because without internet connection you have no way of installing another update or fix.
The following steps below will guide you to the fix.
1. Hit the “Start” button and type on your keyboard “Network“. Or slide your finger from the right side of the screen and select the “search glass” and type “Network“. Select the “Settings” field on the right side and now tap on “Network and Sharing Center” in the search result.
2. The “Network and Sharing Center” should have opened on your screen in desktop mode. Select “Change adapter settings” on the left side.
3. First tap on the “Wifi” icon in the main screen. This will make a menu appear above it. Now select “Diagnose this connection” from this menu above.
4. A screen should have popped up and your Windows 8 computer or Microsoft Surface that will detect the problems and will fix it for you. After it is done just close the screens and your Wifi connections should work again. You are back in business.
